NAHT is on the front lines, rescuing women and children who are actively being trafficked and struggling with substance abuse.

our PROCESS

While we are not a residential program, we quarterback care to ensure each individual's needs are met. Each rescue is unique and is approached with intention by our Rescue team. Once NAHT is contacted by an individual, our Thriver-led Rescue team does an assessment of their needs.

While headquartered in Nashville Tennessee, NAHT makes rescues across the nation through incredible partnerships like Freedom Aviation. All rescues are survivor-informed and thriver-led when appropriate.

Our rescue team has lived every stage of what these women are walking through, and that's exactly why we're the ones who get to walk in and say, "We've been there. We've got you." When a victim walks through our doors with nothing but the clothes on her back, we make sure she gets her choice and her voice back.

We don't hand women off to treatment and walk away. We stay with them — through the relapse, through the fear of leaving, through the first job application, through the new phone number that finally lets her leave her old life behind.

This isn't a job we do from the outside. It's a life we get to keep giving back.

    • Survivor-led, survivor-informed intervention and rescue

    • Support for those struggling with addiction alongside trafficking

    • Recognition and treatment of trauma bonding (the psychological tie to a trafficker)

    • Individualized care — treating the person, not just the situation or addiction

    • Meeting each victim exactly where she is, without judgment

    • A full "shopping experience" on arrival — clothes, shoes, hygiene items, bedding, laundry supplies, and other personal essentials

    • Restoring choice and voice to someone who has had both taken away

    • Placement into sober living or long-term trauma treatment programs following residential care

    • Housing transition and stabilization support

    • Transportation assistance

    • Essential resources to help participants establish independence

    • Job application assistance

    • New phone number and a month of service, so she can cut ties with her past and begin applying for jobs

    • Letters of Hope ministry — volunteers write ongoing encouragement to women in treatment, sight unseen, building a relationship over time

    • Rescue staff who are themselves survivors, walking alongside each woman from pickup through every transition

    • A direct handoff into the Restore program, continuing the journey from victim to survivor to thriver
