NAHT's First Advocacy Award

NAHT Honors Officer Mario Diaz with Inaugural Advocacy Award

In a deeply moving and meaningful moment for the Nashville Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition, we proudly presented the very first NAHT Advocacy Award to Metro Nashville Police Officer Mario Diaz. This inaugural honor was given in recognition of Officer Diaz’s unwavering commitment to justice and his exceptional efforts in building bridges between law enforcement and the anti-human trafficking movement. Over the years, his advocacy has gone beyond policy and procedure—he has cultivated powerful connections that have made real, life-changing impact for survivors across Middle Tennessee.

Officer Diaz's dedication has not only strengthened the collaboration between NAHT and local authorities, but it has also empowered a broader system of support for victims in crisis. His consistent presence, listening ear, and strategic insight have helped pave the way for survivor-centered interventions. Through his work, he has exemplified what it means to stand in the gap for the vulnerable—serving with both courage and compassion, and modeling what true advocacy looks like in action.

To Officer Mario Diaz: thank you for your humble leadership, your tireless pursuit of justice, and your heart that beats for the oppressed. Your example continues to inspire all of us at NAHT. We are so grateful for your partnership and your willingness to stand alongside us in this sacred fight. You remind us that this work cannot be done alone—and with allies like you, we know the battle against human trafficking is not in vain.
