NAHT: Fighting on the Frontlines of Human Trafficking and Addiction

At NAHT, we are not just responding to crises—we are on the frontlines of rescue, restoration, and transformation in the fight against human trafficking and addiction. A recent story powerfully illustrates how our four-pronged approach—Rescue, Restore, Recognize, and Resource—intersected to bring hope to a victim in desperate need.

One of our longtime supporters, volunteers, and donors discovered that her bonus daughter was being trafficked. The young woman confided in her father, revealing that she had been coerced into trafficking by another woman who introduced her to "the industry." Because this family had walked alongside Mary Trapnell and NAHT for years, they knew exactly where to turn for help.

Rescue: Immediate Intervention & Placement

As soon as we were contacted, NAHT's Rescue Team sprang into action—quarterbacking her care, seeking immediate placement options, and providing medical financial support to ensure she had access to critical resources. While she hasn’t yet entered a long-term program, we remain actively engaged with her daily, helping her process her fears and hesitations about the next steps.

Restore: Community & Healing

While waiting for placement, she joined our Restore program, where she found community, support, and guidance through trauma and addiction recovery. This vital step allowed her to begin processing the pain she had endured and to experience a space of safety and hope—perhaps for the first time in a long time.

Recognize: Equipping Families & Communities

This story is also a testament to the importance of our Recognize program—which equips families, schools, and communities to identify the signs of trafficking and know where to turn for help. Because of this family’s involvement with NAHT, they recognized the signs early, knew the dangers, and trusted NAHT to intervene effectively.

Prayer & Transformation: The Power of Christ at Work

Throughout this process, our NAHT prayer team covered her in prayer, believing for breakthrough and transformation. While she initially wanted no part of Jesus, by the time she left for Atlanta, she admitted, "I am at the feet of Jesus with nothing left but Him."

This is why NAHT exists. We are fighting every day to Rescue victims, Restore survivors, Recognize the dangers, and Resource women toward a life of freedom. We are honored to stand in the gap for the most vulnerable, and we continue to pray and fight for those still trapped in darkness—knowing that Jesus is their ultimate rescuer.
Please continue to pray for this young woman and for NAHT as we remain on the frontlines of this battle. #RescueRestoreRecognizeResource
